Sprift Meets Scafol: Faster Reports, Better Data

Why We Built the Sprift Integration Into Scafol

Every surveyor has a version of the same story. A job comes in, and before you’ve even thought about diary slots or access arrangements, you’re three tabs deep trying to piece together planning history, flood risk, EPC status and tenure from half a dozen different places. None of it is hard, exactly. It’s just slow, and it’s the kind of slow that eats a working day without you noticing.

That’s the problem we set out to solve with our new integration with Sprift, and it’s now live inside Scafol.

How it works day to day

You don’t need to change how you work to use it. When a job comes into Scafol, you can pull a Sprift Desktop Research report from directly inside the job record. Two things land at once: a branded PDF that files itself against the job, and a link through to Sprift’s interactive report if you need to dig further into any of the 300+ data points Sprift holds across the UK’s 30 million plus residential properties.

No separate login. No downloading a file and remembering to attach it. It’s just there, sitting with everything else on that job.

Why we prioritised this one

We get asked about a lot of possible integrations. This one went to the top of the list because it addresses something that affects almost every job a surveyor takes on, not just a niche use case. Desktop research is universal. Every survey needs it, and every surveyor loses time to it in more or less the same way.

There’s also a compliance angle worth naming plainly. Purchasors are asking more of surveyors than they used to, and PI exposure has crept up across the profession. Having a consistent, evidenced source of property data attached to every job file isn’t just a convenience, it’s a layer of protection.

What it actually changes for you

  • Fewer hours lost to admin. The research step that used to take you out of Scafol now happens inside it.
  • A cleaner audit trail. Every job carries the same evidenced report, filed the same way, every time.
  • A better opening move with clients. Sharing a polished data report at quote stage does more to build confidence than most surveyors give it credit for.
  • One less thing to remember. Nothing to re-key, nothing to cross-check between systems.

“We built Scafol because we were surveyors first, and we knew where the time was being lost. Pulling together desktop research before a job even starts has always taken longer than it should. Different sources, different logins, copying data across and hoping it’s still current by the time you’re on site. Sprift solves that properly, so bringing their data straight into Scafol was an easy call. It means surveyors get more time to focus on what actually matters, the survey itself, which has always been our underlying mission statement at Scafol Surveying Solutions.”

Rhodri McAtee, Director, Scafol Surveying Solutions

Discussing our latest integration, Jamie Craddock, Head of Surveyor Technology here at Sprift, says:

“What stands out about Scafol is that it was built by surveyors who understood the workflow before they built the software. That makes the integration straightforward to explain: Sprift’s data sits inside a system surveyors are already in every day, attached to the job, ready before they leave the office.

The feedback we hear consistently is that pulling together desktop research still takes longer than it should. It’s not a technology problem, it’s a fragmentation problem. Every integration we build is an attempt to close one more gap. Scafol closes a significant one.

What’s next

We don’t see this as a finished feature so much as a first move. There’s more we want to do with the data Sprift makes available, and there are other integrations already in progress that follow the same logic: less admin, more time on the survey itself. We’ll be sharing those as they’re ready rather than all at once, so keep an eye on this space.

If you’re using Scafol and want the Sprift integration switched on for your account, get in touch with the team and we’ll get you set up.
